Who This Is For

Built specifically for this window.

The Blueprint was designed for one type of person: a senior military leader within 6–18 months of transition. If that's you, read on.

🎖️

E-7 to E-9 (Senior NCOs)

Master Sergeants, Sergeant Majors, Chief Petty Officers transitioning to civilian management, operations, or leadership roles.

O-4 to O-5 (Field Grade Officers)

Majors and Lieutenant Colonels ready to translate command experience into corporate leadership, consulting, or executive tracks.

📅

6–18 Months from Separation

You're close enough to act, but still have time to build your brand, network, and narrative before your ETS or retirement date.

🎯

Targeting VP / Director Level

You led people and programs at scale. Your goal is a civilian role that reflects your actual level of responsibility — not an entry-level position.

💼

No Corporate Network Yet

You've spent your career in the military world. You're starting your civilian network from scratch and need a strategy that actually works.

🏃

Ready to Move Fast

You don't want to spend 18 months fumbling through job boards. You want a structured, accountable path to your first civilian offer.

⚠️

This program is NOT right for you if…

You're more than 2 years from transition, you've already landed your first civilian role, or you're looking for a job placement service (we coach — you execute). The Blueprint works because the people in it are committed. If you're not ready to do the work between sessions, this isn't your time.

The Curriculum

Six sessions. Zero fluff.

Each session builds on the last. By the end of week 8, you have a clear identity, a compelling narrative, an offer strategy, and a peer group keeping you accountable for the long term.

1
Week 1–2
Identity Reset
Who are you when you're not in uniform?
+
What We Cover
  • Decoupling identity from rank and branch
  • Mapping your core strengths to civilian language
  • Identifying transferable leadership competencies
  • Defining your "civilian leadership brand"
  • Overcoming imposter syndrome in transition
Your Homework
  • Complete the Military Skills Inventory worksheet
  • Draft 3 versions of your leadership identity statement
  • Identify 5 career stories that demonstrate civilian value
  • LinkedIn profile audit (we review together in Session 2)
🎯

Session Outcome: You leave with a clear, confident answer to "Tell me about yourself" that doesn't start with your rank or end with a war story — and a written leadership identity statement that anchors every conversation you have going forward.

2
Week 2–3
Civilian Hierarchy Mapping
Understand the org chart you're about to enter.
+
What We Cover
  • How corporate org structures differ from military chains
  • Navigating politics without rank as a shortcut
  • Building influence with peers who aren't your subordinates
  • Reading corporate culture signals in interviews
  • Identifying the right industry and company size for your style
Your Homework
  • Research 3 target companies using the Culture Recon framework
  • Map your ideal role to 3 job titles (not just one)
  • Conduct 2 informational interviews with veteran alumni
  • Draft your target company shortlist (we refine in Session 3)
🎯

Session Outcome: A clear target job function, 2–3 industries that fit your background, and a company shortlist of 10–15 organizations worth pursuing — plus the framework to evaluate any opportunity you come across during the search.

3
Week 4–5
Interview Prep
Win the room without sounding like a briefing.
+
What We Cover
  • Translating STAR stories from military operations to business
  • Behavioral interview mastery (civilian format)
  • Handling "you're overqualified" and "no private sector experience"
  • Executive presence in video and panel interviews
  • Live mock interview with real-time coaching feedback
Your Homework
  • Build your library of 8–10 polished STAR stories
  • Record a mock answer to "Why should we hire you?" (we review)
  • Research your top 5 target companies' interview formats
  • Draft 5 smart questions to ask your interviewers
🎯

Session Outcome: A library of 8–10 interview-ready STAR stories, confidence to handle the 10 most common civilian interview curveballs, and a live mock interview recording you can review before your first real call.

4
Week 5–6
Salary Negotiation
You've never negotiated a salary. We fix that.
+
What We Cover
  • Understanding total compensation (salary, equity, bonus, benefits)
  • Market research — what your role actually pays
  • The negotiation conversation (word-for-word scripts)
  • How to counter without killing the offer
  • Negotiating title, remote flexibility, and start date
Your Homework
  • Pull salary data from 3 sources for your target roles
  • Calculate your floor number and target number
  • Role-play the negotiation conversation with a peer
  • Draft your offer evaluation scorecard
🎯

Session Outcome: A clear salary target range backed by data, a scripted negotiation conversation you've practiced out loud, and the confidence to counter an offer without flinching — typically worth $10K–$30K on your first year's compensation.

5
Week 7–8
First 90 Days Strategy
Land the role. Then lead it.
+
What We Cover
  • Your 30-60-90 day civilian leadership plan
  • Building trust without a rank behind your name
  • Managing up in a flat organization
  • When to lead loudly vs. when to observe first
  • Avoiding the 5 most common new-leader mistakes
Your Homework
  • Draft your personalized 90-day onboarding plan
  • Identify 3 early wins to target in your first month
  • Map your key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Write your "Day 1 leadership intent" memo
🎯

Session Outcome: A written 30-60-90 day plan tailored to your specific role type, a stakeholder map, and a clear understanding of how to establish credibility fast — so you're not still "finding your footing" at month three.

6
Ongoing · Monthly
Peer Mastermind
Your cohort doesn't end when week 8 does.
+
What It Is
  • Monthly group mastermind calls with your cohort
  • Real-time problem solving with peers in similar roles
  • Guest sessions from veteran executives who made the leap
  • Private community channel for async support
  • Ongoing accountability for the goals you set in week 8
Why It Matters
  • Most transition programs end the day they end
  • The hard part is often 6 months in, not 6 weeks in
  • Your cohort becomes a lifetime professional network
  • Access to the mastermind community indefinitely
  • No additional cost — included in your enrollment
🎯

Session Outcome: A peer network of other veteran leaders you'll stay connected to for years. When you hit a roadblock at month 6 or month 18, you have a group of people who've been through the same transition and have your back — plus direct access to the CommandShift coaching team.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this a group course or one-on-one coaching?

+

Both. The 6 core sessions are private 1:1 coaching sessions between you and your coach. You also get access to a peer cohort — a small group of veteran leaders at the same transition stage — for group sessions, accountability, and community support. The mastermind after week 8 is group-format.

How long does it actually take each week?

+

Plan for 3–4 hours per week. Each session runs 60 minutes. Homework between sessions typically takes 1–2 hours — things like drafting stories, doing salary research, or completing a worksheet. You're not expected to do research for 10 hours a week. This is designed to fit around a full-time schedule or deployment prep period.

I'm not separating for another year. Is it too early?

+

12–18 months out is actually the ideal time. You have enough runway to build your network, refine your narrative, and start interviewing before you're under financial pressure. The worst time to start is 60 days from ETS. We've seen it too many times — good leaders rushing into roles that don't reflect their actual capability because they didn't prepare early enough.

If you're 18+ months out, book a call first and we'll give you an honest assessment of when to start.

What if I already have a specific job in mind?

+

Great — the program is more useful, not less. We'll tailor the curriculum to your specific target role, industry, and company. Your STAR stories, salary research, and 90-day plan will all be calibrated to what you're actually going after. Most participants with a target role land faster than those still exploring.

Does this guarantee a job offer?

+

No — and any program that guarantees an offer is lying to you. What the Blueprint guarantees: a structured process, real coaching, and the skills and tools to present yourself at your best. We've seen strong results because the program is built on what actually moves the needle in civilian hiring — not generic resume advice.

We do offer a satisfaction guarantee on Session 1. If you don't find value in the first session, you get a full refund. No questions.

Can I use SkillBridge or GI Bill to pay for this?

+

The Blueprint is a private coaching engagement, not an accredited academic program, so it isn't currently eligible for GI Bill funding. SkillBridge is a DoD internship program and doesn't apply here either. We're exploring approved provider status for certain benefit programs — contact us to ask about current options.

Most clients fund this out-of-pocket and view it as a professional investment. The salary negotiation session alone typically recovers the cost within the first month of the new role.

What happens after the 8 weeks?

+

You keep your mastermind access. Monthly group calls with your cohort and other Blueprint graduates continue indefinitely — included at no extra cost. The community channel stays active, and you retain access to all your program materials and worksheets. Transitions take longer than 8 weeks. Your support doesn't end when the program does.

What if I want to talk to someone before enrolling?

+

That's exactly what the discovery call is for. It's a free 30-minute call — no hard pitch, no sales pressure. We'll understand your background and transition goals, tell you honestly whether the Blueprint is the right fit, and answer any questions you have. Book your call here.
